{"id":95,"date":"2012-09-03T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/?p=95"},"modified":"2013-02-04T15:41:12","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T15:41:12","slug":"lets-celebrate-american-worker-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/lets-celebrate-american-worker-by.html","title":{"rendered":"Let&#8217;s Celebrate The American Worker By Golfing!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><a href=\"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/th7.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"147\" width=\"125\" src=\"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/th6.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><span>Is it just me, or is every day we get off from work just another excuse to get in a round of golf?\u00a0 Don&#8217;t get me wrong, any opportunity I have to play golf is fine with me.\u00a0 But should I feel guilty about it?\u00a0 Obviously, I&#8217;m sure the original intentions of holidays like Labor Day and\u00a0Memorial Day were not intended to be\u00a0treated like just another Saturday or Sunday.\u00a0 But yet, that&#8217;s what we do.\u00a0 <\/span><br \/><span><\/span><br \/><span>Most Americans have no idea what the meaning of Labor Day is.\u00a0 Most have no idea what we are even celebrating.\u00a0\u00a0But we sure do know that it&#8217;s a day that we can sleep in.\u00a0 It&#8217;s an extra day of golf\u00a0for us.\u00a0 It&#8217;s another day to throw some meat on the grill.\u00a0 Is that wrong?<\/span><br \/><span><\/span><br \/><span>I understand that a holiday is a holiday.\u00a0 The intention is to celebrate it.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t matter how, I guess.\u00a0 Every holiday doesn&#8217;t need to be celebrated with a parade, barbecue or fireworks.\u00a0 But at the same time, these holidays shouldn&#8217;t turn into &#8220;Retail holidays&#8221;
