Because I Don&#8217;t Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4846\" src=\"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/thVA2KCXGG.jpg\" alt=\"thVA2KCXGG\" width=\"280\" height=\"230\" \/>I think we all know by now that one of our firm stances here at GolfStinks is the idea that the game of golf is more enjoyable if it&#8217;s not taken too seriously.\u00a0 And from every experience I&#8217;ve had, that&#8217;s 100% true.\u00a0 However, I guess you don&#8217;t really realize whether or not you are taking the game seriously until you play with someone who truly doesn&#8217;t care about anything except getting out on the course.\u00a0 A couple weekends ago I got to play\u00a0a round with one of those people.<\/p>\n<p>It started when I arrived to the course.\u00a0 Now I&#8217;m in relatively good physical condition.\u00a0 I could afford to lose a few pounds and I&#8217;m not in tip-top shape, but I&#8217;m not about to keel over at the next bite of a hot dog either.\u00a0\u00a0I like to walk the course, mainly to get exercise.\u00a0 My playing partner?\u00a0 Not a chance.\u00a0 He already has a cart\u00a0paid for\u00a0before I even arrived at the course.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, he picked me up at my\u00a0parking space.\u00a0 For him, walking the course?\u00a0 Out of the question.\u00a0 It&#8217;s only during some conversation that I realize how stupid I sound when I try to explain\u00a0how walking\u00a0gives me a better &#8220;feel&#8221; for the course.\u00a0 Who am I kidding?\u00a0 The only thing I &#8220;feel&#8221;\u00a0is my sore feet.<\/p>\n<p>Even further was\u00a0the score &#8211; this is where we\u00a0felt exactly the same.\u00a0 Neither of us really cared what we scored.\u00a0 Just the idea that we were playing was more important.\u00a0 However, I can&#8217;t remember the\u00a0last time I\u00a0took a mulligan.\u00a0 But we each took one, and you know what?\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t care.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not a competition.\u00a0 My score doesn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 I had one of those &#8220;Nope&#8221; moments and gave myself a do-over.\u00a0\u00a0Big deal.<\/p>\n<p>Playing with him opened my eyes more to why I enjoy this game.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not out there for exercise.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not trying to get a &#8220;feel&#8221; for anything.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not in a competition.\u00a0 I&#8217;m just there to hang with my buddies and play a game.\u00a0 It&#8217;s how the game should be approached by all of us&#8230;as a game.\u00a0 Now, this doesn&#8217;t mean\u00a0I&#8217;m not going to walk the course anymore.\u00a0 But if someone offers me a ride, I&#8217;ll probably take it.<\/p>\n<p>Swing &#8217;til you&#8217;re happy!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think we all know by now that one of our firm stances here at GolfStinks is the idea that the game of golf is more enjoyable if it&#8217;s not taken too seriously.\u00a0 And from every experience I&#8217;ve had, that&#8217;s 100% true.\u00a0 However, I guess you don&#8217;t really realize whether or not you are taking [&hellip;]<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":4846,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1963],"tags":[243,249,2726],"class_list":{"0":"post-4845","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-stinky-golfer-paradise","8":"tag-golf-cart","9":"tag-mulligan","10":"tag-walking-the-golf-course","11":"entry"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Why Do I Love Golf?
