Am I really that busy or just being lazy?<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s the thing &#8211; I really have no excuse for my lack of playing.\u00a0 I mean, I had plenty of opportunities, I just didn&#8217;t take advantage of those opportunities as often as I should have.\u00a0 And now, we&#8217;re getting into my favorite time of year for golf &#8211; autumn.\u00a0\u00a0The temperatures are generally in the 60&#8217;s and 70&#8217;s.\u00a0 The\u00a0humidity is dropping.\u00a0 The leaves are changing.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t beat it here in New England.\u00a0\u00a0So if I&#8217;m going to make up for my lack of play this season, now is the time I&#8217;d like to do it.\u00a0 What&#8217;s even more frustrating is, the same thing happened to me last year.\u00a0 It was late last May when I first mentioned <a href=\"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/life-gets-in-way-of-golf.html\">how much later in the\u00a0year it was when I kicked of my golf season.<\/a>\u00a0 And it was all downhill from there.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, since then, it has yet to go back uphill.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned last May, sometimes life gets in the way of golf.\u00a0 Sure,\u00a0the kids play sports.\u00a0 So I attend their games.\u00a0 That takes up time during the spring and\u00a0summer for baseball season.\u00a0 Then, during the late summer and into fall, soccer takes over.\u00a0 Hey, when you have athletic kids, it&#8217;s one sport after another.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s not just sports.\u00a0 Sometimes it&#8217;s work.\u00a0 Sure, there&#8217;s been a couple\u00a0of times when I&#8217;ve had to put in a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday.\u00a0 Or maybe there are just other commitments like birthdays, weddings or random other get-togethers.\u00a0 The larger your family becomes, the more events happen.<\/p>\n<p>But as I think about it further, I&#8217;m beginning to think I was just lazy.\u00a0 As I said before, there were opportunities.\u00a0 Maybe not always for eighteen, but nine is better than none, right?\u00a0 For instance, I work only five minutes from a nine-hole course.\u00a0 All summer long I have the opportunity to play nine right after work.\u00a0 But only once did I take that opportunity to do so.\u00a0 And with the kids sports on the weekends &#8211;\u00a0sometimes the games are around noon, but sometimes not until 4:00.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no reason I can&#8217;t play either before or after their games.\u00a0 There was even one time that I was so desperate to play eighteen, that when\u00a0I asked one of my buddies to play and he responded he only had time to play nine, I didn&#8217;t even bother to answer.\u00a0 I skipped it altogether.\u00a0 And I wonder why I haven&#8217;t played as much as I&#8217;d like!<\/p>\n<p>Now that I&#8217;ve had the time to write this out, I realize now, no matter the commitments, there&#8217;s always time to squeeze in some golf.\u00a0 It might take some creative scheduling, and I might have to settle for nine holes.\u00a0 But either way, there is always time.\u00a0\u00a0I always make time for the things\u00a0I enjoy and love.\u00a0 So why should I treat golf any differently?<\/p>\n<p>Swing &#8217;til you&#8217;re happy!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you know what&#8217;s a bad feeling?\u00a0 When your golf season is winding down and you realize that you didn&#8217;t play nearly as much as you would have liked this year.\u00a0 That&#8217;s what is happening to me\u00a0right now.\u00a0 Here we are in early October and I can&#8217;t even tell you exactly how many times I&#8217;ve [&hellip;]<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":8026,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1963],"tags":[1601,1184,1237],"class_list":{"0":"post-3022","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-stinky-golfer-paradise","8":"tag-eighteen-holes","9":"tag-lazy","10":"tag-nine-holes","11":"entry"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Am I Too Busy For Golf, Or Am I Just Lazy?
