{"id":2723,"date":"2013-08-12T07:00:39","date_gmt":"2013-08-12T11:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/?p=2723"},"modified":"2013-08-11T23:07:09","modified_gmt":"2013-08-12T03:07:09","slug":"its-ok-to-stink-at-golf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/2013\/08\/its-ok-to-stink-at-golf.html","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s OK To Stink At Golf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ts3.mm.bing.net\/th?id=H.4864820328270482&amp;pid=1.7&amp;w=281&amp;h=173&amp;c=7&amp;rs=1\" width=\"281\" height=\"173\" \/>One of my favorite sitcoms was always <em>My Name Is Earl.\u00a0 <\/em>For those who aren&#8217;t familiar, the show is about a guy who, for most of his life, was always.., well.., a low-life dirtbag.\u00a0 He\u00a0lied to, stole from\u00a0and\u00a0hurt people both physically and emotionally &#8211;\u00a0just an all-around bad guy.\u00a0 Until one day, by &#8220;accident,&#8221; he learns about karma.\u00a0 He then goes on a mission to fix all of the things he&#8217;s done to ruin people&#8217;s lives.\u00a0 I mention this because I saw a re-run of an episode I didn&#8217;t remember seeing before.\u00a0 An episode called &#8220;Stole Beer From a Golfer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In this episode,\u00a0Earl and his brother convinced a guy that he was a really good golfer who had a shot at the tour even though he was terrible.\u00a0 Why did they do this?\u00a0 So they could get free beer.\u00a0 The poor guy became so obsessed with golf, thinking he had the potential to be great, that he lost his\u00a0job, his girlfriend left him and he ended up living out of his car.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, this was a big joke and a far-fetched sitcom.\u00a0 But in a strange way, there&#8217;s some truth to it.\u00a0 Simple fact, if you\u00a0stink at golf, just accept it.\u00a0 If your buddy stinks at golf, don&#8217;t hype him up.\u00a0 Instead, let him know.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t have your golfing buddies going around thinking they&#8217;re better than they are.\u00a0 That&#8217;s how they lose money in golf bets.\u00a0 That&#8217;s how they end up\u00a0looking and sounding like idiots, both on the course and off.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever been around that guy who talks the part, dresses the part and carries the equipment that looks the part, but when he gets out on the course, it looks like he left the game part at home?\u00a0 Of course you have.\u00a0 How do you think he got to be that way?\u00a0 Because he had one of two things &#8211;
