{"id":2322,"date":"2013-06-03T07:00:38","date_gmt":"2013-06-03T11:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/?p=2322"},"modified":"2013-06-03T01:13:39","modified_gmt":"2013-06-03T05:13:39","slug":"who-should-teach-the-rules-of-golf-etiquette","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/who-should-teach-the-rules-of-golf-etiquette.html","title":{"rendered":"Who Should Teach The Rules Of Golf Etiquette?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ts1.mm.bing.net\/th?id=H.4895585135428276&amp;pid=1.7&amp;w=245&amp;h=175&amp;c=7&amp;rs=1\" width=\"245\" height=\"175\" \/>Last week I asked what was more important, <a href=\"http:\/\/golfstinks.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/is-golf-etiquette-more-important-than-the-rules.html\">golf etiquette or the rules of the game.<\/a>\u00a0 I mentioned that I don&#8217;t care if someone bends the rules a bit, but how I would rather they show a little respect for the game as well as its other players.\u00a0 But that only led me to another question &#8211;\u00a0who should\u00a0teach the rules of etiquette to new golfers?<\/p>\n<p>Personally, it was my friends who taught them to me as\u00a0they taught me the game itself.\u00a0 Some they would tell me ahead of time.\u00a0 Others they would correct as I was making the mistake.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s face it, there are an awful lot\u00a0of etiquette rules.\u00a0 But if you really think about it, they all kind of come down to common sense, keeping up with the pace of\u00a0play and respect for others on the course.\u00a0 If you know the basics of the game, then the etiquette\u00a0part should come much easier.<\/p>\n<p>But again, who should be teaching these rules?\u00a0 Is it the responsibility of the player?\u00a0 Should they be researching these rules themselves?\u00a0 What do they do, get a copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Golf-Etiquette-Revised-Barbara-Puett\/dp\/B001PO66TO\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1370224136&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=golf+etiquette\">this<\/a>?\u00a0 Or maybe spend a few bucks extra to get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Golf-Rules-Etiquette-Dummies-Steinbreder\/dp\/076455333X\/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1370224136&amp;sr=1-4&amp;keywords=golf+etiquette\">this<\/a>\u00a0instead?
